Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for parts and equipment? Possibly. HSA and FSA funds can be used for qualified medical expenses. Exercise equipment and parts are not automatically eligible, but they may qualify when a licensed healthcare provider recommends them to treat, manage, or prevent a specific diagnosed medical condition. In most cases this requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from your provider.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)? A short letter from your physician or licensed healthcare provider stating the item is medically necessary for a specific condition (for example, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, obesity, or mobility-related treatment). It usually notes the condition, the recommended item, and the expected duration of use. Keep it with your receipt in case your plan administrator requests documentation.
How do I pay? You may be able to use an HSA/FSA debit card directly at checkout (some card networks decline non-coded merchants), or pay with a regular card and submit your itemized receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.
How do I get an itemized receipt? Your order confirmation email is an itemized receipt. If you need anything additional for your plan administrator, contact us and we'll help.
Important: Eligibility and reimbursement are determined by your specific HSA/FSA plan and current IRS rules, not by us. Please confirm coverage with your plan administrator and consult a tax professional before purchasing. This information is provided for convenience only and is not tax, legal, or medical advice.
